ARTHUR:

"I don’t think they had a particular strong game as a group,"

-Coach Carlyle on the Blake-Koivu-Selanne line, per The OC Register

Jason Blake had better learn to do the Carlyle shuffle, because it looks like the rhythm is going to get him tonight. Not that you can blame the winger for missing a step on the second line, most every Duck has. Evgeny Artyukhin is the closest thing to Finnstant chemistry that Selanne and Koivu have seen, and Mr. Incredible may be too much orange armband heat to make that combination work again (though I hear the NHL is letting people hit each other with helmets again).

Detroit comes off a rallying win at HP last night, bringing them to 3-3-4 in their last 10 games, almost all of which were against tough competition. The Red Wings are averaging 3 goals per game in their last five, while the Ducks are posting a paltry 1.8, bookending three one-goal efforts with convincing wins in St. Louis and Florida.

Left Wing Lock has an unconfirmed Osgood/Hiller matchup tonight. I may be at the game. Friend of the blog CK has a ticket on the table for me if I can get away in time. I'll mobile comment as best I can if I am.

Post any game info and lineup changes in the comments.
