THE TELETYPE:
With the 132nd overall Selection, Anaheim takes defenseman Tim Heed from Sodertalje of the Swedish Elite League.
Details to follow...
ARTHUR:
I honestly know very little about Tim Heed. At 6'0" 165 lbs, he's an extremely slightly built offensive defenseman, though the numbers in SEL play and international play are modest: a goal and 9 assists in 27 games with Sodertalje SK, an impressive 3 goals and 5 assists in six games with the Swedish U19 team but two assists in 3 games with the Swedish U20 team. He did have 8 goals and 29 assists with the Sodertalje's J20 team, but I'm thinking his international play was determinative for Madden and his staff.
This site offers this translated scouting report:
An offensive-minded defenseman who previously played forward, which is sometimes noticeable. Is a good shot and a highly-skilled playmaker from the blueline. Useful on the man advantage. Lots of poise and with pretty good mobility - elite hockey prospects
