THE TELETYPE:
According to the Register, the Ducks tendered qualifying offers to restricted free agents Bobby Ryan, James Wisniewski and Brendan Mikkelson before today's deadline. The offers reserve restricted negotiating rights for the Ducks. The paper also notes that forwards Shawn Weller and Bobby Bolt as well as goaltender Jean-Philippe Levasseur were not tendered offers, though negotiation is ongoing with Levasseur. The paper did not comment on RFA left wing Ryan Donally, who played with the Bakersfield Condors last season with an expiring contract this season.
Weller, whom the Ducks acquired for right wing Jason Bailey last year split his time between the ECHL and AHL last year, serving as captain of the Condors and playing on a line with Ducks' NCAA free agent signings Dan Sexton and MacGregor Sharp before moving on to an AHL assignment with Abbotsford. Bolt, who had already spent some time with the Condors the season before last, played only a brief stint in Bakersfield before moving on to the IHL's Muskegon Lumberjacks for the duration of the 2009-10 campaign. And Levasseur played most of his time last year with the Springfield Falcons in the AHL behind goaltender Devan Dubnyk.
