After a grueling first half to their NHL schedule, the Ducks are actually being given time to practice and rest on this road trip, not to mention the opportunity to play some teams on the tail end of back to backs. In true Ducks fashion, the team has decided to let every opponent on the Canadian arm of this road trip leave the ice with points. One would hope the focus tonight will be on changing that trend.
Eric Stephens notes that a few Ducks may have had too much fun in their newly found time off, as the standard Randy Carlyle punishment was observed during practice. With the season calming down and the Ducks gaining ground on, uh, well, at least the Kings(?), it may be a valuable time for players to take a deep breath. Of course, the effort still needs to show on the ice as teams catch up in the games played column while the Ducks get a little space between contests.
