There are those, mostly Predators fans, who would say the Ducks' season came down to Game 5, goals finished by players not named Selanne and Perry, a Nashville power play that was successfully frustrated, and a one-goal lead with 36 seconds left. If the Ducks lose this series, more and more people will say that.
But that's why you play seven. That's why you race to four. The bad beats will rarely swallow the skilled player.
So, the Ducks' season comes down to a game this afternoon, their ability to dig deeper into their bag of heart, their ability to put their alligator blood on display. There is no tomorrow; any player who thinks otherwise should be imagining a putting green. There IS no tomorrow . . . until they make one for themselves.
