The Ducks have had a tough road to the playoffs all season. It wasn't just a win against Dallas that could have sealed it, but wins early in the season when the Ducks couldn't buy a steady D-corps, wins during losing streaks (which seemed to crop up immediately after winning streaks), and frankly, better efforts on nights the team just failed to show up in a winnable game. That doesn't mean that they haven't also outright stolen points to keep themselves relevant in this race, but if their season really did come down to a single night against a desperate opponent, it wasn't fate or anything.
And now, it's their job to show that same desperation in two, preferably all, of their remaining games. That being said, they could also, apparently, finish 4th. It's a tight rope.
