Everyone has been waiting for this day. The anticipation and excitement is palpable. He is returning to where it all began - Andrew Cogliano is back in Edmonton. Hahaha! That was a good one.
I don't think anyone besides Andrew Cogliano cares that he's back in Edmonton since the trade that brought him here. Remember that trade? If memory serves me correctly, we were stoked to have a new, versatile, speedy center to back up Getzlaf and Koivu. Well, that hasn't exactly turned out as planned, and our friends up in Edmonton are quick to remind us why they were happy to get rid of him in the first place. Let's hope he steps it up tonight and at least aims for the shoulders of the goalie instead of right into the chest protector.
I've been off the hockey grid for the past week, so I'm behind on the rumors of everyone and their mom being traded for a bag of pucks and a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes. Let's hope that Bob Murray hasn't made the journey up to Edmonton with the team. You know how he is with Edmonton. He loooves to trade with them. Lubomir Visnovsky has worked out well, but beyond that we've had a bunch of duds. There isn't much else to trade for in Edmonton that wouldn't cost us a considerable amount of picks, star players, and/or prospects.
Jonas Hiller is reported to be back in the net tonight after an outstanding performance in Calgary. He really didn't lose that game for the Ducks. It was lost by the four guys on the ice in front of him. Other than that, it was a great game for the kids. Let's hope the bleak, bone chilling cold of Edmonton hasn't sucked the life out of them by the time the puck drops tonight.
