Ryan Getzlaf scores his first career NHL goal in a 3-2 loss at Detroit. Also in this game Ilya Bryzgalov set the Ducks franchise records for most shots faced (39) and most saves (36) by a rookie goalie.

Acquired LW Marty McInnis from Chicago in exchange for a fourth round Entry Draft pick in 2000. Also this week in Ducks History (10/23/00) McInnis scored his only hat trick as a Mighty Duck in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Kings.
