The news update game preview is working! I should have done this earlier in the season. No, I'm not superstitious. Why do you ask?

-- Both Corey Perry and Luca Sbisa skated and participated in drills during the morning skate. While they didn't go all out in the drills, they're still doing them and that's what counts. In the post-skate scrum, Bruce Boudreau left both players as 'game-time decisions'; however, he followed that up with a comment that the guys will likely be more inclined to play on Sunday (vs. Nashville) or Monday (vs. San Jose). As the games dwindle down, I'd be ok with sitting them for the rest of the season.

-- Following Wednesday's win over the Red Wings, Earl Sleek from BOC and I did a podcast with Kings fans from 'All the Kings Men'. When asked if it would be a 'moral victory' for the Ducks and Kings to miss the playoffs, my answer was an equivocal 'YES'. Earl added that he wouldn't have to take quite as much crap from Rudy (and Meg if the Sharks miss too) in the off-season. I just haaaate hearing Kings fans boast about their accomplishments when it really means jack until you've got the ultimate prize. The Sharks missing the playoffs would also fill my heart with joy, but not so much as our frenemies from beyond the orange curtain.

-- No news on the Justin Schultz front. How the heck did it go from his signing being imminent to he ain't even close to a deal?!

-- Finally, have a safe St. Patrick's day. Coincidentally, it happens to also be Bobby Ryan's 25th birthday. BR's name is one of the best Irish hockey names to ever play the game, even though it wasn't his given name.
