Your Friendly Friday Links Roundup: The Stuffed Games

New, comments

Blogs dedicated to the bubble teams (and when I say 'bubble teams,' I mean San Jose and Washington) have posted game previews/threads/recaps making puns of the phrase 'Hunger Games.' But we're so over hunger, guys. That's so January. We're - we're - just stuffed.

  • Schultz Watch: The Hurricanes might be after Justin Schultz, too. DON'T THEY ALREADY HAVE JUSTIN FAULK? (Can you hear me yelling through the interwebs?). [The Fourth Period]
  • I don't agree with Andrew Knoll's assertion that Kyle Palmieri has been one of the top three rookies in the Pacific Division this year, but I do believe that Devante Smith-Pelly has "bolstered [the Ducks'] size and energy levels." [Hockey's Future]
  • April 1st is Fan Appreciation Night at Honda Center, and the Ducks' final home game (vs Edmonton). A Ducks fan named Vicky (Twitter: @PrincessDuck) wants fans to line the glass with 'One More Year' signs for Great 8, and Ducks Daily Blog writer Michael Lombardi is trying to publicize her plan. • Jason Blake has the last word. (This is really just a recap from Wednesday's game, but the headline terrified me so much that I had to include it). [Associated Press, via San Gabriel Valley Tribune].
  • Nate Guenin is enjoying his time in the NHL. [OC Register]
  • Sunday's game is also 'Alberta Day' at Honda Center. Travel Alberta is an official partner of the Ducks. [Anaheim Ducks]

  • Which New Jersey Devils forwards are worth the money? Jen: Zach Parise. Duh. [In Lou We Trust]
  • And in case you've forgotten, we're playing Boston on Sunday! Gulp. [OC Register]
  • [Ed. Addition #1] Ducks are saying that Captain Crunch Nate Guenin is possibly out for the season after taking a puck off the forehead in the game versus the Blues resulting in an orbital bone fracture. I saw Guenin take the puck to the face but he returned to finish the game. Surgery is not required.
  • [Ed. Addition #2] Jonas Hiller was voted by the Anaheim Chapter of the Pro-Hockey Writers Association as the Ducks' nominee for this year's Masterton Trophy. Considering the second half of this season has been incredible for him, he should be a finalist.
