In news not involving a Finnish nightclub named 'Circus'...

Team USA is playing Team Slovakia RIGHT NOW on NBC Sports! (Bobby Ryan just scored - on his own goalie. D'oh!) I'm late on posting this, but you can thank two special Canadians for that. Speaking of drunken Canadians, Team Canada was not hungover (or just sober enough) to beat Team France 7-2 today.

GAME 1: Washington Capitals at New York Rangers, 4:30PM on CBC, NBCSN, RDS

SBN Sites: Blueshirt Banter & Japers' Rink

Series Record & Storyline: Giants 2 - Redskins 2. Like the Kings, the Capitals are peaking at just the right time after a below-expectations regular season. My favorite part of this series is the 'behind-the-bench' interview with John Tortorella. I think we've met someone that could be more annoyed and more angry than Randy Carlyle. Pierre McGuire usually asks one question, gets a three word answer, and then throws it back to Doc. I wouldn't be surprised if Torts smacks Pierre in the back of the head after the camera cuts away.

GAME 2: Nashville Predators at Phoenix Coyotes, 7:00PM on TSN, NBCSN, RDS

SBN Sites: Five For Howling & On the Forecheck

Series Record & Storyline: Cardinals 3 - Titans 1. Not sure which is more exciting for the Coyotes right now, the chance that they could win tonight and play the Kings in the Western Conference Finals or that they've finally found an owner. Either way, I look for them to be very hard to beat tonight, at home with a fanbase that knows - for sure - they've got a team going into next season. Barry Trotz will likely insert the Russian version of Getz and Pears (Alexander Radulov and Andrei Kostitsyn) back into the lineup after sentencing them to two games on Dry Island. It's a last gasp effort from Nashville to keep their season going and possibly keeping Shea Weber around for the long haul.
