We have been waiting for this day since September when the owners locked their doors from the players.
Now that it's here, there are more questions than clear answers. How will the team start the season? How will a full year of Bruce Boudreau change the fate of the franchise? Could this truly be Teemu Selanne's last year? What becomes of Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry? Will Kyle Palmieri finally be traded stay in the NHL? Is Bob Murray's job on the line? Can they make the playoffs? 48 games is not a lot of time to find out the answers.
One thing we know for sure - Jonas Hiller is our number one goaltender. The Canucks have opted to go with Cory Schneider as the starter, putting a very expensive backup on the bench in Roberto Luongo. Rumors have Luongo going to Toronto but that was a stronger rumor when Brian Burke was still in charge. Just because it's fun to drive Canucks fans crazy, I hope the Ducks chase Scheider from the net early and the Luongo pitches a shut out the rest of the way. Ahh, it's so great to be talking about hockey again.
On behalf of the Anaheim Calling staff, welcome back and GO DUCKS!
