From our earlier report, Cam Fowler is out of the lineup tonight against San Jose. In his place will be rookie defenseman, Sami Vatanen. Vatanen played his first NHL game on Friday night versus Minnesota. He recorded 13:52 minutes of ice time, 1 SOG and was plus-1.
The team is staying pretty light lipped. Boudreau doesn't think Cam will be out long.
Feeling around Ducks is Fowler is doing a lot better today but with apparent head injury, there's uncertainty. He's day-to-day for now.

Bruce has made some changes to the lines this morning:
#NHLDucks line combos so far: Perry-Getzlaf-Winnik; Selanne-Ryan-Beleskey; Cogliano-Koivu-Palmieri; Etem-Bonino-Staubitz-Smith-Pelly.

#NHLDucks defensive pairings in morning skate: Allen-Vatanen; Beauchemin-Souray; Lydman-Sbisa.

Interesting. The third line is fast but tiny, in complete opposition to the first line, which is kinda slow and big.
Jonas Hiller will sit this one out tonight, as his backup, Viktor Fasth, gets the starting job.
Looking like Viktor Fasth against San Jose. Gets the nod over Jonas Hiller for third NHL start.

This is the third start of Fasth's NHL career. He is 2-0-0 with a .938 SV% and 1.44 GAA. In just two starts, he's allowed only three goals against. In comparison, regular starter Hiller, is 3-1-1 with .871 SV% and 3.54 GAA. In five starts, Hiller has allowed 18 goals against.
Does anyone else get this feeling this is like Bryzgalov/Giguere and/or Hiller/Giguere all over again?
Finally, Bruce's comments on Stoll's hit on Fowler not being reviewed:
Boudreau was surprised that Jarret Stoll didn't draw a hearing for hit on Fowler. Didn't go ballistic and said "we'll just move on with it."

I was hoping for some Bruce-style through the media criticism. Boo-urns.
