Future Of The Franchise Monday: Will Rakell Stay Or Go?

The center/winger has earned a spot on the team in the eyes of many fans, but will the organization keep him in Anaheim?

Rickard Rakell is on the precipice of becoming the present - not the future - of the franchise. He has impressed in his brief stint with the big club, and according to Eric Stephens, Bob Murray and the Ducks organization are still mulling over whether he should be sent back to Plymouth or kept with the big club.

Joseph Cramarossa's Belleville Bulls routed the Sarnia Sting 8-3 on Saturday night (he was credited with an assist).

Calgary Hitmen defenseman Kenton Helgesen, a 2012 7th round pick, had a more difficult week. A bad bounce off his stick led to the game-winning goal in the Hitmen's 5-4 loss to the Swift Current Broncos on Wednesday.


Max Friberg scored a goal in Timra's 3-2 win over Skelleftea on Saturday.


Northeastern's Kevin Roy, a 4th round pick in 2012, currently leads the NCAA in scoring with 27 points.

Minnesota-Duluth freshman Andy Welinski has gone cold, and was held scoreless during the month of January.

Notre Dame defenseman Kevin Lind scored a goal in Norte Dame's 6-3 loss to Ohio State on Saturday.

Nic Kerdiles' Wisconsin Badgers lost 4-1 to North Dakota on Saturday, but Kerdiles was credited with an assist.

Maine defenseman Nick Pryor is currently out of commission with a concussion.


Marco Cousineau struggled in the Fort Wayne Komets loss to the Kalamazoo Wings on Saturday, allowing three goals on seven shots.
