Final Score: Norfolk 3, Charlotte 2

First Period Recap: The first 20 minutes was pretty fast paced with the two teams combining for 26 shots, Norfolk had 14. The Checkers got on the board first 10:51 in when Matt Marquardt scored his second goal of the season. The Admirals didn't answer back. It was 1-0 Charlotte going into intermission

Second Period Recap: The Admirals had to kill four penalties with one carrying over to the third period and were successful in all of them. With just 42 seconds left in the period John Mitchell scored his 8th goal of the season when Jordan Hendry fed him a pass from below the goal line, Brayden Irwin got the secondary assist. The Admirals out shot the Checkers again 16-11 and went 0 for 3 on the power play but the game was tied 1-1.

Third Period Recap: The final period is when both teams decided to score often. Nate Guenin got his third goal of the season on the power play 4:43 in. Luca Caputi and Irwin received the assists. Less than two minutes later Mitchell scored his 9th of the season with Guenin and new guy Kyle Wilson helping out; Ads up now 3-1. I am so happy Wilson did something tonight.

Not to be out done Brett Sutter scored his 14th goal of the season to try and bring the Checkers back. Charlotte got a power play with 1:08 to go in the game and pulled their goalie but could not beat Frederik Andersen.

The Good: The Admirals keep winning as they make a late season push for the playoffs.

The Bad: Norfolk is still giving teams way to many power play chances, yes five is to many!

The Ugly: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton lost 5-1, we need them to win every game except win they play us.
