GameThread: Sharks @ Ducks: The Hangover, Game 3

The Ducks look to take their heads out of the porcelain throne and get back to some semblance of normal as they take on the San Jose Sharks to close out the five game home stand.

For the Ducks, the game and victory against Chicago was the party of the century and the two games against Detroit were the epic hangover that followed.

As I get older, I find my hangovers are much harder to shake-off. The Ducks are experiencing an adrenaline hangover. Think about it. On Wednesday night versus Chicago, the Ducks played - and won - what was likely the biggest game of their regular season. Everyone called it a statement game and the Ducks made their statement. Now the adrenaline has died down to 'normal' when playing and the body is reacting. Brain farts on the most simple tasks and forgetting what made them 2nd in the West in the first place.

My tried and true hangover cure is Mexican food from a hole-in-the-wall place with a questionable food grade. The Sharks are the Ducks' Mexican food. If they want to get over the Detroit games and hit the road on a positive note, they need to smack around the Sharks.

Notes: Viktor Fasth in net tonight against Antti Niemi ... Forward Radek Dvorak cleared waivers this morning and is now on the Ducks 'non-active' roster as he works out Visa issues ... San Jose's Douglas Murray will not be in the line up tonight because he was traded to Pittsburgh this morning ... Ryan Clowe is a game time decision due a shoulder injury ... Ducks are 2-0-1 in season series with Sharks, tonight marks the beginning of a mini-playoff, home-and-hom series with SJ.
