The Norfolk Admirals need to win every game as they continue to try to stay in playoff contention.

Shawn Dulin

Final Score: Admirals 1, Bruins 4

First Period Recap: For the second game in a row Norfolk started off slow letting Providence out-shoot them 11-3. Igor Bobkov was able to hold all of the shots but one. Torey Krug of Providence finally beat Bobkov 17:13 into the opening period scoring on the power play. It was scored on the only man advantage that the Bruins had all period. The Admirals had three power play chances but couldn't convert.

Second Period Recap: The Admirals seem to have a new thing with the second period by showing up. Norfolk newcomer Max Friberg scored his first goal a minute into the period with Devante Smith-Pelly and Matt Smaby getting the assists. Norfolk out-shot Providence 19-5 through the period but could only beat the All-Rookie and AHL First Team All-Star goalie Niklas Svedberg once. Both teams had one power play for the period but no special teams goals were scored.

Third Period Recap: The Baby Bruins really laid it on in the third period. Just 2:53 in Alexander Fallstrom scored his second goal of the season. Two minutes later he scored his third goal of the season to put the Bruins up 3-1. To finish the game off Krug got his second goal of the night with 2:28 remaining. Providence wins 4-1.

The Good: The only good thing is that Norfolk stayed in control of their playoff hopes and dreams.

The Bad: With Kyle Wilson and Mat Clark out for this game and John Mitchell not playing in the last three this line up missed some good players in this game.

The Ugly: The Admirals only has 8 shots combined in the first and third periods, that will not win games for you.

3rd Icehole: Josh Brittain - The last two games have been kinda rough for him. He didn't play terribly, he was a -1 and 2 shots on net, but I had to nit pick for a 3rd icehole.

2nd Icehole: Patrick Maroon - When he is scoring he is great, when he has a game with only 3 shots and a minor penalty it hurts a team that is looking for scorers.

1st Icehole: Nate Guenin - This may seem really weird but Guenin starts a lot of things with his puck movement and shots on goal, in fact he usually leads the defense in shots or is right up there. He had no shots tonight and finished a minus-2.
