GameThread: Jackets @ Ducks - Squishing Bugs

The Ducks have secured a playoff spot; Columbus has not. The Bugs are jockeying with - of all teams - the Detroit Red Wings for the eighth and final playoff spot in the west.

Uh, you missed.

Who's Hot? Sergei Bobrovsky. Bobrovsky's name is being mentioned as a possible Vezina and/or Hart candidate considering he's carried the Bluejackets on his back the entire second half of the season. You think Philadelphia doesn't completely regret letting him walk away considering the season they're having?

DUCKS PREVIEW

A lot has happened over the past few days in and around Anaheim. Let's catch you up on some of the news:

-- Peter Holland was re-assigned to Norfolk. Jordan Hendry and Sami Vatanen were recalled.

-- Cam Fowler is still banged up with back spasms; however, he will be joining the team on the road for the Canadian swing.

-- Luca Sbisa will not be in the lineup tonight because of general body aches and pains. He will also join the club on the road trip.

-- The Ducks signed Yale forward Antoine Laganiere to a two-year entry level contract. He's going to finish up the semester at Yale and then figure out what he wants to do. Of the former, he's not eligible for the playoff roster.

-- Ducks prospect and World Juniors gold medal winning goalie for Team USA, John Gibson, has finished his season with his junior team, the Kitchener Rangers and has been assigned to Norfolk.

-- Nick Bonino is still on the injured list but he has begun to practice with the team again. The goal is to get him in a couple games before the playoffs. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw him make his triumphant return towards the end of the Canadian swing (and righting everything in the world).

-- Viktor Fasth is in net tonight.
