Getzlaf & Perry Fund 'Learn To Play Program' For Kids

Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf are staying in Ducks uniforms for the next eight years and they're receiving dump trucks full of money to do so. Not only are the Ducks as a team benefitting from their decisions to stay, the community is, too.

While their teammates were in Denver for last night's game against the Avalanche, Perry, Getzlaf and Ducks owner Henry Samueli joined a bunch of fifth graders on the ice to announce the newly titled 'Learn to Play Program Powered By Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry'. Kids between the ages of four and 10 can join the program at six of The Rinks locations and learn how to play hockey (duh).

Hockey is a notoriously expensive sport to play due much in part to the cost of equipment. Getzlaf and Perry are putting their money where their proverbial mouths are by purchasing (for skaters) skates, elbow/shoulder pads, pants, jerseys and gloves from Bauer (side note: ironic it's Bauer considering both guys are with Easton). The two players will show up and give instruction at random times throughout the program.
