Numbers For Nerds

This will be the fifth time the Canucks have been the Ducks opponent for their first scheduled home game of a season, the most of any franchise in the league. It's the fourth time they've been opposite Anaheim in the first game at the Pond/Honda Center; the teams played a two game series in Tokyo to open the season ahead of the Nagano Olympics in 1998, Ottawa was the first team the Ducks faced at home on home soil in 1997-98. Anaheim is 2-2-0 in first home games against Vancouver, and 1-2-0 at the Pond/Honda Center.
