Numbers For Nerds

In a situation where standings points become more and more valuable with every passing day, it could be reassuring to see a team that has consistently been giving up one or two to the Ducks. Since losing a seven-game Stanley Cup Final to New Jersey 12-and-a-half years ago, Anaheim has earned at least one point in every meeting with the Devils except two, a 3-1 loss in November 2009, and a 2-1 defeat in October 2010. In that stretch of time, the biggest threats on this team against the Devils have been the usual suspects. Corey Perry has scored six points (3-3) and Ryan Getzlaf has earned five (1-4) in the ten meetings they've drawn in the lineup for since the end of the 2003 campaign. Arguably the hottest Duck against New Jersey, however, is defenseman Cam Fowler, who has been averaging a point per game versus the Devils over the last two seasons.
