After a win Friday in New Jersey, the Ducks face the Islanders in the first of back-to-back games.

The Anaheim Ducks earned a 2-1 win in New Jersey on Friday where Clayton Stoner sat for Korbinian Holzer and Patrick Maroon played on the top line. This will be the team's first trip to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Notes:

Ducks

The Ducks are now 3-3-0 in the month of December and are (as of this writing) 4 points out of second place in the Pacific Division with a game in hand. There's plenty of time to make up that ground, and the Ducks have shown signs of life in New Jersey. Frederik Andersen returned to the net for the first time this month and looked solid in a 2-1 win. Bruce Boudreau sat Stoner in favor of Holzer and he played Maroon on the top line. The changes were enough to get the Ducks a win despite being outshot 22-19.

Islanders

The Islanders are on a bit of a losing skid having lost their last three games to the Panthers, Avalanche and Coyotes. The Islanders are third in the Metropolitan Division behind the Capitals and Rangers, but have had difficulty scoring goals recently. The team has 2 goals in its last three games. The usual players lead the Islanders, Kyle Okposo in points and captain John Tavares in goals. The Ducks should expect to see Jaroslav Halak in goal as he has taken the No.1 role for the Islanders.

Two hours before the game we will have the game thread up, featuring the full Stat Pack, likely with expected lines, and of course your Numbers for Nerds.
