The Anaheim Ducks have acquired forward Tomas Fleischmann from the Florida Panthers in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft and forward Dany Heatley.
The Panthers have been looking to deal Fleischmann before Monday's NHL trade deadline, looking to get something for him before he becomes a free agent this upcoming offseason. ESPN reported Friday that the Ducks had interest in Flash, and here it's come true.
The 30-year-old Fleischmann has seven goals and 14 assists in 52 games with the Panthers this season. He comes with a cap hit of $4.5 million. Heatley has been in the AHL since the New Year and has played just six games for the Ducks this season. Maybe he'll get another chance in the NHL now that he's in Florida.
