Technically this is an update from yesterday, but it applies:
So that begs the question: Who steps in as fourth line center for Game 3?
BB said Nate Thompson (upper body) won't play Game 3. Did say Tomas Fleischmann is an option in middle. Had him play some center with Caps.— Eric Stephens (@icemancometh) April 20, 2015
A smiling Thompson was tight-lipped about whether two more days will get him ready for Game 4. Did confirm that he was "healing."— Eric Stephens (@icemancometh) April 20, 2015
If Bruce Boudreau is openly talking about Fleischmann drawing in as an option, I think it's fair to assume that's the most likely option at this point. That also leaves flexibility for another possible solution of shifting Andrew Cogliano back to center (which he hasn't played much under Boudreau) if he decides he doesn't like Fleichmann centering for some reason.
In other roster move news:
Ducks have called up Stefan Noesen. Norfolk ended its AHL season the other night.— Eric Stephens (@icemancometh) April 20, 2015
Noesen will most likely stay behind Jiri Sekac in the depth chart, but Kid Ish postulates (over at PuqMag) that he could be a long shot option to play center as well and could be inserted for Kyle Palmieri.
Update: A little more clarity in the Ducks' Pregame Report from Kyle Shohara on anaheimducks.com
On the Winnipeg side of things we have line combos and D pairs (parentheses indicate player did not skate but expected to be in the lineup):
