Only the Toronto Maple Leafs have give the Ducks a harder time at gaining points over the history of the franchise, as Anaheim is just 24-43-7-5 against the Red Wings, a .380 points percentage. Detroit averages the fourth most goals (3.05) while holding the Ducks to the second lowest goals per game (2.34) against a specific opponent. Oh yeah, there's also the matter of Detroit having won four of the six playoff meetings between the teams. There's a reason why to many long time Ducks fans, the Red Wings are enemy number one.
The recent history has been kind to Anaheim though, as the Ducks have swept the season series each of the last two seasons since Detroit moved to the Eastern Conference, outscoring the Red Wings by a 12-7 margin.
