Numbers For Nerds

After being selected three picks apart in the 2012 NHL Draft, Hampus Lindholm has (to this point) appeared in 24 more regular season and 23 more playoff games than Winnipeg's Jacob Trouba. Though Trouba has averaged 1:34 more of ice time (22:27 vs 20:53) per game since their 2013-14 rookie seasons, Lindholm has put up 15 goals and 57 assists; 12 more points than Trouba's 21 goals and 39 assists. The Ducks have generated 52.4 percent of the shot attempts with Lindholm on the ice at even strength and facing slightly less difficult competition, while Trouba's ES shot attempt percentage is 51.8 while being paired with much higher attempt-generating teammates.
