Numbers For Nerds
Unlike Anaheim's recent successes over their previous opponent, the Philadelphia Flyers, the Columbus Blue Jackets have very rarely allowed the Ducks to get hot against them. The longest win streak in the matchup's history is set at five games, a feat accomplished once by both teams. Columbus got theirs out of the way right after their inception, as they won every game against Anaheim in 2001. The Ducks, on the other hand, took five in a row of their own from November 2nd, 2007 to December 8, 2008. For the last five years, neither team has managed to rattle off more than two in a row over the other, and in the last two-and-a-half seasons, they've been trading wins one-for-one. That last trend is one that the Ducks will hopefully break tonight, as a 4-2 Anaheim victory in their last meeting implies that the Jackets are the team that's due for a victory in this up-and-down series.
