It has been almost two months since the Anaheim Ducks dropped Game 7 to the Nashville Predators.

The disappointing 2-1 loss not only marked the end of the Ducks’ season, but also the end of an era at Anaheim Calling as Eric stepped down as managing editor days later.

After a thorough search I am happy to announce that Travis Hughes, who oversees all the hockey blogs at SBNation, has chosen me as Eric’s successor.

Many will know me from my work at Hockeybuzz where I cover the New Jersey Devils, Calgary Flames and run a frequent Hotstove posts on important topics in the NHL. Others may know me from my work as an OHL scout for HockeyProspect, or from my weekly columns at MyNHLTradeRumors. Some of you may not know me at all.

For those that don’t, I am a 21-year-old based out of Barrie, Ontario (about an hour away from Toronto, most notably) who spends a lot more time watching hockey - and all major sports - than I probably should.

As someone who scouts OHL games, and follows the prospect world very closely as a whole, I hope to bring some knowledge in that area. I am also very into analytics and will be using numbers to help support my arguments.

Besides that there’s not much else to say other than I am thankful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get started.

Oh, and I own a Corey Perry jersey.
