2016 NHL Awards: Ryan Kesler finishes 3rd in Selke Trophy voting

At least he finished ahead of Jonathan Toews!

The Selke Trophy was handed out on Wednesday night and Ryan Kesler wasn’t the winner.

Kesler finished 3rd in voting for the Selke, which goes to the best defensive forward in hockey. Anze Kopitar took home the award while Patrice Bergeron finished a (somewhat) close 2nd.

In the award preview I predicted Kesler would finish a distant 3rd in voting and that’s how it all played out.

It’s worth noting that captain Ryan Getzlaf made a few voter’s ballots.
