The NHL unveiled its 2017 All Star Game rosters this morning with center Ryan Kesler and defenseman Cam Fowler being named to the Pacific Division squad.
Kesler has had a resurgent offensive year with 35 points (16g, 19a) in 42 games played while playing his usual shutdown defensive minutes, throwing himself squarely into the mid-season Selke Trophy discussion. This is Kesler’s second All Star Game with his career year of 2011 as a member of the Vancouver Canucks being the other nomination.
Fowler is also seeing an offensive resurgence, tallying his best offensive numbers since his breakout rookie campaign with 22 points (9g, 13a) in 42 games. He’s also been one of the few consistently reliable defensmen on the Ducks this season amid the team’s struggles on the back end.
The 2017 All Star Weekend will be held January 28th-29th in Los Angeles at Staples Center and will be broadcast live on NBC.
