The Anaheim Ducks might as well be called the San Diego Gulls. They can’t dress a fully healthy NHL roster and are forced to turn bottom-end role players into top 9/top 6 guys due to injuries.
I was at the game on Monday night ice level and was able to watch Kase after the hit. In my opinion it looked like a concussion based on the way he was struggling to get into the bench.
Not sure if it’s been reported but watching Kase get off the ice after injury looked to be like a concussion— Kyle Kiekenapp (@KyleKiekenapp) October 10, 2017
Per Eric Stephens :
Anaheim is declaring a head injury, not stating anything about a concussion, but one can only guess that it most likely is a concussion. Also appears that Patrick Eaves is skating with the team, and will be a game time decision.
Ondrej Kase (head) not skating which isn't much of a surprise. Patrick Eaves is though. He's with Getzlaf and Perry.— Eric Stephens (@icemancometh) October 11, 2017
It also appears that Ryan Miller and his upper body injury seem to be making a recovery, but looks like Reto Berra will remain John Gibson’s backup tonight.
Ryan Miller (upper body) is trading off one net with Reto Berra. My guess is Berra remains the backup for now.— Eric Stephens (@icemancometh) October 11, 2017
The Ducks don’t always get good recognition so I am going to take this opportunity to make a shout out to one of our great fans of this website. Alex Ramirez was stranded at home due to the local fires and instead of trying to sell his tickets he decided to give them away for free. I would love if we could give him some appreciation with some social media love.
Alex had asked me to get some pictures of the game for him for the great gesture. I obliged of course. See below.
Thank you Alex Ramirez.
