The Anaheim Ducks announced on Monday morning that they have recalled Kalle Kossila from the San Digeo Gulls.
Kossila, 24, played one game for the Ducks last season but did not show up on the scoresheet.
The French-born Finn made his professional debut with San Diego during the 2015-2016 season where he made an immediate impact, scoring 2 goals and registering 2 assists in 4 games played.
In his second professional season, Kossila put up good numbers for the Gulls with 48 points (14G, 34A) in 65 games played with 6 points (2G, 4A) in 10 playoff games last year.
With the Ducks electing not to bring the injured Patrick Eaves on the 4 game road trip kicking off tomorrow in Philadelphia, Kossila has a chance to show Randy Carlyle and Bob Murray that he’s not just an aging AHL player.
Kossila may be best known to hockey fans for his incredible “Michigan” lacrosse-style goal he scored last season that made several national highlight reels. Watch below and relive the magic.
