This seems to be a continuing trend for Anaheim this season. There hasn’t been a day where an injured player hasn’t been spotted around Anaheim. It seems there is a curse that is affecting the team. Maybe we need a Halloween exorcism to remove this injury plagued disease.
John Gibson injury: yeah, going to need you to not be hurt.
John Gibson just left practice after throwing his blocker off. He was shaking his right hand and seemed to be in a lot of pain #Ducks— Mike Coppinger (@MikeCoppinger) October 31, 2017
UPDATE: It appears as if Gibson is ok. His ability to give the Ducks his successor, however, is now in question.
Update: Gibson is OK. Carlyle said Gibson was hit in his “private parts.” That explains the scream #Ducks— Mike Coppinger (@MikeCoppinger) October 31, 2017
Ryan Getzlaf: This one doesn’t surprise us all, but can’t imagine it is a good thing. Ryan Getzlaf has subsequently been put on IR.
Ryan Getzlaf back to injured reserve after taking a puck to the face over the weekend. Can’t play until swelling around eye subsides— Mike Coppinger (@MikeCoppinger) October 31, 2017
Kevin “Superman Punch” Bieska: Looks like there isn’t as much concern now that Superman has healed our superhero.
Kevin Bieksa (hand) is practicing today. RC had hinted that the injury might not have been as serious as first thought.— Eric Stephens (@icemancometh) October 31, 2017
Nick Ritchie: Let’s just hope this isn’t serious. My only conclusion could be a re-aggravation from a previous injury this season.
Ryan Getzlaf (face) not skating. Nick Ritchie also not on ice. We'll ask about the captain after workout.— Eric Stephens (@icemancometh) October 31, 2017
Due to all these wonderful injuries the Ducks have recalled Kalle Kossila from the San Diego Gulls.
Also appears Kalle Kossila has been recalled from AHL San Diego.— Eric Stephens (@icemancometh) October 31, 2017
Kossila has 2 points in 2 games this season with 1 goal and 1 assist. Not a bad addition to the hospital ward of the Anaheim Ducks.
