Las Vegas Likes Anaheim

The betting firms. Not the team. Pretty sure they won’t like us very soon.

NHL: Preseason-Los Angeles Kings at Anaheim Ducks Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

T’was the night before the home opener,

And all through the house,

Not a creature was stirring,

Except for Ducks fans craving good news about their team after even more injuries were announced by the club.

This is why I write sports articles, not poetry.

The good news is here in the form of Bovada’s NHL betting odds on the outcomes of this season. Despite the injuries, betting markets generally like the Ducks chances this year putting their odds to win the Stanley Cup at 14/1. They are tied for 5th as of today with four other teams: Dallas, Nashville, Toronto, and Washington.

Check out the full table below.

Getting down to the Conference Odds, the Ducks look even better, tied for second with the Chicago Blackhawks at 6/1 odds to win the Western Conference and play in the Stanley Cup Finals. Edmonton currently holds the number 1 spot at 17/4 odds (Vegas really likes Connor McDavid, apparently).

The full Conference Odds for both the West and the East are below.

Finally, Pacific Division odds. I’m sure you can guess who Bovada has projected to win the division this year if you skimmed over the above table. Las Vegas has fully committed to the Church Of McJesus with Reverend Chiarelli as leader of the congregation.

Don’t worry though, oddsmakers have given a nod to the sacred relic of Ryan Getzlaf’s blindingly bright head as a worthy leader into the postseason in the second position with 11/4 odds.

Pacific Division odds are below.

These odds are very fluid and are usually updated weekly as performance, injuries, and schedule change and progress. The current numbers were published before today’s injury announcements, however, so it would not be surprising to see Anaheim drop a few spots in this department until the hurt players return.
