The injury news came pouring in Tuesday morning as updates on many Anaheim Ducks players surfaced.
Let’s get the bad news out of the way first. Cotrey Perry, who left the ice last night favoring his knee, did not return to the game. The team revealed that he was getting tested at the hospital and he is now listed as week-to-week. No timeline has been released for his return as of yet.
INJURY UPDATE: Randy Carlyle said Corey Perry’s evaluation of his lower-body injury puts him at “week-to-week.” He says the team will have a better timeline next week.— Anaheim Ducks (@AnaheimDucks) December 12, 2017
Eric Stephens did report, though, that Perry was working out at Honda Center today and is not on crutches, so we will have to wait for next week’s timeline to be released to be certain.
Corey Perry is on a week-to-week basis with a lower-body injury, per Ducks coach Randy Carlyle. Will be evaluated again in a week. Winger is not on crutches and was working out at Honda Center this morning.— Eric Stephens (@icemancometh) December 12, 2017
Nick Ritchie, Hampus Lindholm, and Joseph Blandisi
Alright, now that the bad news is out of the way lets get to some of the good news. Nick Ritchie will return to practice tomorrow and will take the road trip with the team.
Hampus Lindholm will also skate tomorrow and make his way onto the upcoming road trip as well.
New acquisition Joseph Blandisi, who fell into the injury trap two games into his Ducks career, is an option to play on Thursday in St. Louis.

Joseph Blandisi - is an option to play in Thursday’s game at St. Louis
Finally, the injury news we have been waiting for. Eric Stephens reported that the plan is for Kesler to travel on the upcoming road trip with the Ducks. Obviously with it being a six game road trip this doesn’t mean he will return in the next few games, but the fact that he is traveling with the team means that we might finally see the return of the man who is the easiest to cheer for in the league sooner rather than later.
RC said plan is for Ryan Kesler (hip surgery) to go on road trip. Nick Ritchie, Hampus Lindholm and Joseph Blandisi, who all have differing upper-body ailments,— Eric Stephens (@icemancometh) December 12, 2017
will travel as well. Ritchie scheduled to practice tomorrow. Blandisi an option for Thursday in STL.
With the injury to Perry and the question marks on the return time for the other forwards, the Ducks have called Kevin Roy back up to the big team after a short lived stay in San Diego (read: a few hours). This means that the Kevin Roy fan club may now meet again, in a visible and well lit location, as our hero has risen.
Kevin Roy fan club meetings will continue in secret in the abandoned warehouse on Katella until our hero rises again. https://t.co/DaNld7Pgys— Anaheim Calling (@AnaheimCalling) December 11, 2017
