Hands up if you think you saw the Ducks play their best game of the season thus far on #Celebrate07 night. You bet your ass they did. Can they replicate the hype and follow it up against a Blues team who most unscrupulously denied them a point in the final minute of their last encounter?

Lets hope so.

But this has to be the most inconsistent Ducks team we have seen in recent memory so maybe don’t hold your breath.

The Blues are coming off a 3-1 victory over the Kings on Monday night and are currently on a 5-game winning streak thanks to Jake Allen and his weird-ass minimalist mask. David Perron is also chipping in - scoring against the Kings and despite giving our boy Getz some love on Twitter; I’d still like to see Manson keep him and his net-front transgressions in check.

Whilst the Flames now share the 2nd spot in the Pacific with the Ducks (and are actually ahead by differential), the Blues are fighting for the third spot in the Central. They currently sit in the second wild card spot as the Oilers occupy the other.

While the obvious danger is Tarasenko and their 5th ranked powerplay, the Ducks could also take advantage of a hole left by Shattenkirk on defense. The departed Blues defensemen lead the team in assists and CF% among blue-liners. The next closest is Parayko, and Hampus Lindholm’s corsi numbers are leaps ahead of his. So if the Ducks can continue the same hard-hitting cycle and turn-over game they were laying waste to the Capitals with, it would serve to benefit their chances of winning this one.
