Acquired at the Trade Deadline for a conditional 2nd-round pick that turned into a 1st round draft pick, Patrick Eaves finished the year with 31 goals, second on the Ducks behind Rickard Rakell.

Speculation that his high-scoring year may have been an abnormality led many to wonder and worry on what it could cost to retain him - as per Pierre Lebrun the contract breaks down like this:

Eaves finished the season and playoffs playing exclusively with Ryan Getzlaf on the first line and was a valued contributor on the powerplay before a high ankle sprain ended his post season run. The Eaves signing could really turn out to be a fantastic move if his chemmistry with the Anaheim captain can continue.
