The Anaheim Ducks announced today that they have acquired forward Justin Kloos from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Pontus Aberg.

The twenty five year old signed with the Wild as an undrafted free agent after completing his senior year at the University of Minnesota where he captained the Gophers for both his Junior and Senior year. He is also a former Mr. Hockey award winner.

He has thirty points in thirty four games for the Iowa Wild and the time of the trade lead Iowa in scoring while also co-leading them in goals.

The 5”9’, 175 pound center has appeared in one NHL game with the Wild and 119 games with Iowa.

Kloos is the fourth Ducks player to be directly connected to the Gophers program with 2015 third round pick Brent Gates Jr. currently co-captaining the squad, 2018 third round pick Blake McLaughlin in his freshmen year and 2018 fourth round pick Jack Perbix due to attend there next year.

Pontus Aberg was acquired via waivers and had nineteen points in thirty seven games for the Ducks, his eleven goals were tied for second on the team in goal scoring at the time of the trade. He had been a healthy scratch for the last four games.
