Game 24
Date: Saturday November 23rd, 2019
Time: 4:00 PM Pacific
Location: Amalie Arena
TV: Prime Ticket
Radio: AM 830
Your Enemy: Raw Charge
After allowing five unanswered goals to drop a heartbreaker against the Florida Panthers in overtime on Thursday night, the Anaheim Ducks finish their road trip tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Lightning seem to still being feeling the effects of their shocking first round sweep at the hands of the Columbus Blue Jackets last year, currently sporting the same amount of wins as the retooling Anaheim Ducks while sitting sixth in the Atlantic Division.
While the Lightning are near the top of the league in scoring, they are near the bottom of the league in goals allowed. A lackluster defense combined with Vezina-winner Andrei Vasilevskiy being nowhere near his normal self make it a game that is very winnable for the Ducks.
Tampa Bay will not be helped by the fact that captain and leading scorer Steven Stamkos will be out of the lineup, taking away their most significant offensive weapon.
Even more encouraging for the Ducks will be Hampus Lindholm’s expected return to the lineup. The Ducks best defenseman has been out since November 5th with a lower body injury that has been nagging at him for much of the season. Anaheim has been one of the NHL’s worst defensive teams since he was injured, so his presence back in the lineup should be a huge boost.
Ryan Miller will spell John Gibson tonight, who had started the previous three games on the road trip with mixed results.
