The Anaheim Ducks will select ninth overall in the upcoming NHL entry draft with the first of their two first round draft picks.

As per Sportnets most recent draft rankings - Saskatoon Blades center Kirby Dach is currently rated 9th best on the draft chart but a multitude of scenarios could occur between now and Friday June 21st that could determine who is taken where and by whom.

The Bad News: The Ducks lost out at winning into the 1-3 odds and the chance to select one of either Jack Hughes or Kaapo Kakko.

The Good News: The Kings dropped from 2nd to 5th overall so they lost out also.

The 2019 NHL Entry Draft will be held in Vancouver on June 21st and June 22nd. I have written a series of NHL Draft Entry options as well as a pre-emptive February preview. Keep an eye on the blog for the coming weeks for further Draft Entry options as well as a clearer picture as we try to guess at who might be available for GM Bob Murray to select with the second highest pick he has ever had in his tenure in Anaheim and the highest the Ducks have had since 2012.
