In a deal that extends the Anaheim Ducks’ 14-year streak of making a trade on the deadline, Bob Murray has traded Derek Grant to the Philadelphia Flyers. The 29-year-old center was having a career year in Orange County, amassing 14 goals and 20 points, including a team high three shorthanded goals.

In return, Philadelphia will send a conditional 2020 4th round draft pick along with career minor leaguer Kyle Criscuolo to Anaheim. The Flyers are currently in third place in the Metro Division and only a single point ahead of fellow division foes the New York Islanders who are in a wildcard spot. Having already added former Duck Nate Thompson in a trade with Montreal earlier in the day, Philadelphia GM Chuck Fletcher appears to be intent on shoring up the bottom of his roster with reliable, if uninteresting, forwards.

Note: Per Capfriendly.com the Ducks will receive the higher of the two 4th round picks between Philadelphia and Nashville that the Flyers own.
