The Ducks took Zegras with the ninth overall pick in the 2019 Entry Draft. Putting up 87 points in 60 games with the United States National Team Development Program, Zegras rose in the draft rankings with his elite playmaking skills.
The Bedford, New York native then played his freshman year with the Boston University Terriers centering their top line while racking up 36 points in 33 games.
Zegras gained national recognition for his incredible performance at the 2020 World Junior Championship where he registered nine points, all assists, as he powered the majority of what turned out to be a weak offense from Team USA.
By signing an ELC, Zegras will leave college and play for either the San Diego Gulls or the Anaheim Ducks depending on his performance at training camp.
