Australia - unfortunately - lost to the Netherlands this morning, to claim 2nd place in the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship (in Division II Group A). It was their first loss for the tournament, and part of what should be considered a successful campaign.

Murray had one 3rd place vote for the award.
Artemi Panarin, Shayne Gostisbehere, Connor McDavid, Jack Eichel, Dylan Larkin and Max Domi finished ahead of Gibson in the Calder race.
