Roster Notes
Ducks
Ducks sent John Gibson and Ryan Kesler back to the OC from Denver last night. Both nursing lower-body ailments but should be OK for Game 1.

Will confirm with BB later but Ducks’ other big guns should be going tonight. Feeling is division is now there to win, so why not?

Capitals
The Caps have recalled Zach Sill from AHL Hershey, which probably means C/RW Jay Beagle is out tonight. #CapitalsTalk

Grubauer starting for Caps tonight.

Would go Grubauer. Trotz said that was “probably” what they’d do, but also said “we’ll see.” https://t.co/B4p0XeicIn

Trotz had said Chorney would get a game, so think you’ll maybe see him with Schmidt. https://t.co/8Ya59UHiCM

Hockey-Reference Numbers For Nerds
Though the Ducks have the chance to capture the first Jennings trophy for fewest goals allowed during the regular season in franchise history, they've already conceded more than their best defensive 82 game season in franchise history. The 2007-08 season the trio of Jean-Sebastien Giguere, Jonas Hiller, and Ilya Bryzgalov (who played nine games with Anaheim prior to being claimed off waivers by Phoenix) combined to allow just 184 goals.
The 03-04 New Jersey team holds the league record for fewest goals allowed in an 82 game season since the Jennings trophy was first awarded in the 1980-81 season. The Devils allowed just 164 goals, with Martin Brodeur claiming his fourth of five career Jennings wins and playing 75 games, while Scott Clemmensen played four and Corey Schwab played three. Brodeur's five wins are tied with Patrick Roy for most in the award's history- Ducks color analyst Brian Hayward shared the Jennings with Roy in Montreal three times in 1986-87, 87-88, and 88-89. Goalies must play at least 25 games to be recognized as a winner.
